The inaugural call of "Bolette" to Port of Kristiansund on March 16, was the first ordinary cruise call in 2023. However, "Spirit of Discovery" from Saga Cruises called Kristiansund end of February on short notice due to weather challenges during the original sailing route.

A total of 24 calls are expected to the region in 2023, of which 19 to Kristiansund and 5 to Smøla island. We have fewer calls booked in 2023 than in 2022, but not quite as many of the smallest ships, which means the total number of passengers is expected to be higher. Kristiansund is ideal for small and medium-sized cruise ships carrying up to 2,500 passengers.

In addition, the length of stay for the cruise ships is increasing, meaning more time to experience the region with the Atlantic Ocean Road as the top attraction. Kvernes stavechurch, harbour sightseeing with the iconic Sundbåten, the tiny island of Grip and the Norwegian Clipfish Museum, are other popular attractions in Kristiansund during summer.
