Below an invitation to a digital event where cruise destinations Kristiansund, Smøla & Hitra will participate together with our appreciated neighbours Port of Aalesund, Geirangerfjord Cruise Port and Port of Molde, Åndalsnes & Eresfjord.
By 2026, Norway’s UNESCO-protected fjords will be free from cruise and ferry emissions. Environmental regulations are tightening up everywhere, and other locations are following suit.
Ålesund Cruise Network together with Ports of Aalesund, Geirangerfjord Cruise Port, Port of Molde, Åndalsnes & Eresfjord and Port of Kristiansund, Smøla & Hitra, would like to invite you to a digital round table meeting on how we can help cruise lines navigate the green transition.
The meeting will be held on 5. October 2021 from 16:30 to 18:00 o’clock Oslo time.

Representing ports and destinations in Møre and Romsdal, the heart of Norway’s fjord coast, we would like to help develop the cruise industry towards a green and sustainable future. The Møre og Romsdal region aims to be the best sustainable tourist destination in Norway, and we want cruise to play an important role. Our goal is to help create a cruise industry with a big impact, but a small footprint.
We would like to start a dialogue with you, exploring new opportunities together and demonstrating what we have to offer. Short distances between our ports and berthing close to the top attractions allows more time to explore, and to enhanced local value creation with lower emission. Would your cruise line like to visit our region in the future? Then this meeting is for you!
About our region
Møre and Romsdal hosts some of the most attractive cruise destinations in the world. The ports of the Geirangerfjord, Ålesund, Molde/Åndalsnes, Kristiansund, all have spectacular scenery. We offer a variation of small and larger ports, towns and countryside, fjords, mountains and open sea, hidden gems, and bucket list attraction. Berthing close to the top attractions allows more time to explore.
Ships are arriving again, and it’s good to have you back! I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
