Our cruise manuals for Kristiansund and Smøla island have now been updated for 2026-2027. We have expanded our shore excursion portfolio in Kristiansund with several distinctive experiences.
New options include a home visit to the historic clipfish mansion Lossiusgården, a photo safari to the Atlantic Ocean Road, and guided town walks focusing on art, culture and architecture. For the Atlantic Ocean Road, new combinations feature a seal safari and alpaca farm visit, in addition to the bestselling Kvernes stave church and the Bergtatt marble caves.
The brand-new house of opera and culture (Normoria) in the town centre adds further opportunities with museum exhibitions or opera, ballet and other musical souvenirs.

For Smøla island, tours are the same as previous years, with the combination of a living fishing village (Veiholmen) and a vacated one (Brattværet) as the top experience. Other activities include sea eagle safari, hiking in Dyrnesdalen, kayaking in the archipelago with a local guide, visiting a salmon farm, or enjoying a cultural experience with a local music performance.
With only 2–4 cruise calls per year, Smøla island remains a true hidden gem!
